Updated info from Minneapolis

Turns out that one of our extended family members was on the I-35 bridge when the bridge collapsed. My hubby Mike's... um, the relationship is Mike's sister's (Maggie) husband's (Mike-Brother in law) brother's (Pat) daughter. I think that makes it like a 2nd cousin. Anyway, her name is Talia and she was on the busload of kids that much of the media has been focusing on. Apparently they were from a local community center and were headed out on a field trip of some sort when the bridge gave way.

Maggie also emailed saying that there have been stories all over about individuals that used the bridge all the time, and then due to the mass of traffic backups, had started rerouting to the 10th Street Bridge just days before. Or how due to health problems they just hadn't been there that particular day, otherwise, they would have been sitting in the traffic at that time... etc.

"There are so many amazing stories. Today I heard interviews of people who'd just driven under the bridge on the river road below when they heard the noise, looked back and saw it fall just behind them. Or the guy out jogging underneath it when he heard popping sounds, looked up at puffs of smoke, and saw stuff start to fall in slow motion before he ran out of there at full speed covering his head and then seeing it all down behind him. There are also stories of heroes. In fact, the jogger was one who helped get the school bus kids off the highway." -Maggie
