The Culprits

I finally found the culprits that destroyed the vegetable garden. They are little green leaf eating machines. The beans would sprout new leaves just to have them eaten off again. Go figure. Here's a picture of the culprits in action:




It is kinda hard to see them, but if you look close enough, there are two black beady eyes looking back at you, and some little green legs folded up. Yup, Grasshoppers. There was also some mini Hermies (Caterpillars, in case you aren't familiar with Hermie the Caterpillar Children's DVD series) with big black heads on them... I thought I had a picture of them too, but if not, I'll get one tomorrow.

I hear that I should have dusted my veggies with lime. That it would keep all the bugs from wanting to eat my delicious green leaves. However, it is too late this season to do that. Maybe next year. Until then, I am going to thoroughly enjoy my one green bean that the garden produced. So take that you little grasshoppers!!!!
