Savannah's eye doctor appointment

We had her pre-op appointment today. Doc said that they will definitely be doing the surgery on Thursday, even without much vision in the left eye. In case it is getting confusing, that is the one that they did the surgery in the first time and were successful in getting the pressure down.

The current belief is that the lack of vision in the left eye is not related to the surgery, but due to the fact that her brain is not interpreting the signals. Apparently it is pretty common in kids that have vision problems from early ages that the brain stops interpreting what it sees in the worse of the two eyes and only uses what the good eye sees. Apparently it is a classic case of "lazy eye". Apparently this type of lazy eye can be a pretty hard one to fix, that it really comes down to one day it will just "click". Like a light bulb coming on, the brain will go hey that is right I got another eye! At least that is the impression that I had today at the doctors office. Sometimes the Doctor doesn't want to answer the questions too straightforward, not because he isn't a good doctor, but because there is no way of knowing what she will do. They say kids are resilient and they don't say that for nothing.
