Up to 4 or 5 hours

We are up to somewhere around half a day with the patch on. It is kinda hard cause all Savannah will really do with her patch on is sit there in my lap. Then I don't get much done. Savannah knows that she can't see very well and that without seeing she could get hurt easily so she just doesn't do anything. Mike convinced her tonight to play with a ball ramp thingy that we borrowed from a friend and she was having lots of fun with it, but she couldn't find the balls when they reached the end. We were having to place them back in her hand. She really liked the sound of the balls going down the ramps around her though.

I think maybe the way to make it through the days after surgery is to get a bunch of new to her toys that she can explore with all her other senses. That way she will find them interesting and want to actually play and explore what she can. I hear that there is a great thrift store over off 13. Maybe Monday will be the day I find where it really is.

The other thing we have found that she likes to do when she has her patch on is to go for stroller rides. She likes to listen to all the sounds that she is normally to busy to hear, and imitate them... Yesterday she heard a bird cawing, and then Savannah imitated it.
