It seems that we have gotten a lot better in the last few days. SAavannah and I were having a heck of a time together when it came to that little patch of hers cause I felt like all we were doing was fighting. Between the patch and the regular tactics of a two year old I think that was all we were doing. This past week though, things changed. Savannah is now willing under most circumstances to keep the patch on. What changed you ask? Well, from what I can figure out only two things.
A, I prayed and told God several times, some with tears and some without, about how I hated having to fight over the stupid patch.
B, God gave me the inspiration to change the wording of the request. Instead of saying "leave patch alone", I now say "keep patch on."
It seems to do the trick too. Maybe the problem we were having was the lack of understanding the vocabulary the first time around, or maybe God changed both of our hearts to just accept it more as the way it is just going to have to be, I don't know, but life is a lot less miserable and I feel a lot more comfortable letting her out of my sight for a few seconds, and to send her to grandma and grandpa's house for a day of fun knowing she will leave it alone. Either way I just thank God. And now since she isn't tugging on it as much we can go back to the nicer patches that don't tear up the skin as much.
