Getting Closer...34 weeks and counting

So we are getting closer everyday to welcoming our new little one into our family as well. In case anyone has missed any of the updates, her name is officially Zoe Michelle Lindberg. Usually we like to make the middle name a family name, and I guess you could say Zoe's is too... It is my middle name from birth (though I dropped it when I changed to my married name). Mike and I found it rather hard to find a middle name that we liked with Zoe. Now if she had been a boy, we already knew what the name would have been.... If we ever have a boy maybe you will find out what it is. I hear though that once you have two kids of the same sex, you have an 85% chance that you will always have that same sex in future pregnancies. I haven't verified that in any way, it is just what I heard through the grapevines.

I have also been asked a couple of times if I have noticed any significant differences between this pregnancy and my pregnancy with Savannah. I must admit that once a pregnancy is over, and time has past, the detail do become fuzzy unless they were very memorable. Like with Savannah I remember having to sleep on the sofa a lot by this time in pregnancy (it was easier to sleep sitting up), where as so far I haven't had a need for that more then a couple of nights this time around. I think a big part of that is because I am carrying Zoe a lot lower than I did Savannah. That causes other issues, like more back ache, which I don't remember having nearly as bad with Savannah. When they say every pregnancy is different, they aren't kidding.

I think this time around has been a lot harder too, simply because it went through flu season, and flu season was a lot worse than normal since the vaccines were not as effective this year as in years past. (Not that we ever get the vaccines, but everyone we hang out with apparently usually does.) Also, I think this time around we had a lot more exposure to the flu virus because of Savannah being around other kids.... and you know kids, they know how to share germs, even though they don't necessarily like to share anything else. Especially kids like Savannah who are thumb suckers. It is much harder to keep the germs off the hands and then out of the mouth. Maybe that is a good reason to make Zoe like pacifiers.... but then it is something else that I have to keep track of, wash and replace when needed. Hmm, thumbs are easier since the kids can't lose them and they are free, though, it really wasn't so bad when Ella had a pacifier. I guess it will be up to Zoe which she prefers. Savannah hated pacifiers.

I have also started to notice my body starting to prepare for the upcoming birth. The joints have loosened up, and sleep is harder to come by. I really think the lack of sleep in the last month or so before births is so that mom's can't blame baby for causing it in the first few weeks after birth cause it is a problem that starts before the baby is even born. Though I must say, Tylenol PM helps tremendously.... and since I don't know a mom-to-be that isn't sore somewhere, Tylenol itself is a lifesaver.
