So I haven't updated about Savannah's eyes lately, as there hasn't been much to report. In between the tests, there is no way to tell what the eye pressures are doing (staying the same, increasing or decreasing) and since there hasn't been a test lately, we haven't had any news. We do have a test coming up here near the end of the month, so we will have some indication again soon as to whether or not the pressures are acting up again. Hopefully there will be nothing but good news.
While in between tests, we are supposed to be working on the lazy eye issue that the glaucoma created. We were waiting till things got slightly calmer, and mom started feeling less pregnant and tired, before really starting the patching, since one has to be alert and able to chase after the cranky two year old with the uncanny ability to remove patches with lightning speed. Well, look out Savannah cause mom is starting to get the patching itch.... and she's getting some of that energy back.
Now we will also be getting Zoe's eyes checked too. In fact, I called today to schedule her appointment with Savannah's Ophthalmologist. Her first visit is actually only a week away, apparently when they can see them really little, they really like to get them in fast. (Originally I had been told that the first appointment available would be next month.) I hear that when they are so little, they don't require anesthesia and the whole nine yards to get the pressure taken, and that it is a lot less of a hassle. That is if they can convince her to open her eyes in the first place..... So far we only have been blessed with limited viewing time ourselves.
(So I went searching for a picture of congenital glaucoma.... and all the pictures were too sad and disturbing to add to the blog.... so this one is a words only post.)
