Halloween prep

We have decided to do the fun part of Halloween and just intentionally stay away from the scary side of Halloween. So the girls are going to be pumpkins this year and we are going to have a little potluck with some friends and family. Then after a little trick or treating (maybe very little) we are going to go up to the local church festival. All in all it should be lots of fun.

But this is the weeks activities leading up to Halloween....
We all went on a hay ride...

then picked out a pumpkin.... (no it wasn't this one but it made for a great fall picture)

and Mike and Savannah carved it out....

Savannah approved of the pumpkin immensely once it was lit up...

and then mom took over and scraped the sides real good and put all of the pumpkin innards in this bucket. Why you say??? and why is it in the fridge???? Well it is to be sorted and cooked tomorrow.... remember that post about homemade baby food? Well now is as good of a time to try as any... except I don't have any ice cube trays so it will probably have to be frozen in smallish Tupperware containers... and put in our deep freezer.... if it makes it through my cooking or lack of cooking ability.
