Behavioral difficulties

So since Savannah started school more, we have had some behaviors start cropping up that neither Mike and I prefer to see in our little girl. She has reverted in potty training when she is around us, but has no accidents at school. She refuses to go sit on the potty for us though either, as if just because we asked her to, she can't do it. So she has started peeing though like five pairs of undies a day, and is wanting diapers..... yeah right girl!

She has also started ignoring the rules when she feels like it. Anything we ask pretty much is ignored..... then when she decides to listen she wonders why she is getting the consequences. IE we asked her last night to go take a bath. "She said not right now I am reading." After a warning or two, Mike took a shower instead of waiting till she was done. Then a big temper tantrum ensued because she couldn't take a shower exactly at the time she wanted.... Where is this temper tantrum stuff coming from?????

The only thing Mike and I can think of is that at school she is not held to as high of a standard. Maybe that means we need to address it with her new teacher.... they do the three warning system, but it seems that maybe that is too many warnings....

Any other ideas????

I can't be an expert on this, but I can tell you that both my kids are in the middle of a similar funk. We're REALLY hoping that it's just a phase, something the terrible-two's left behind. I have a friend who said her son did the same thing, and she assured me it's just their way of asserting more independence. We're like you though...we hold a higher standard for behavior and from time to time it's almost like they're walking the line (and crossing it) just to see what reaction we'll give. Just keep on keepin' on and keep your standard high...Savannah will realize you mean business. At least, I hope that's the answer, because that's what we're doing. :)
