Wolfsons 2

So I just talked to the cataract doctor. We started the conversation with him wanting to still wait till August, but after talking a few minutes, was willing to consider moving it up to an earlier date. He stated that although there seemed to be little difference between last appointment and this appointment, the lens/cataract has been slowly progressing since initial diagnosis. So that tells me we do have to deal with it. Combine that with the fact that she is starting to complain about light sensitivity more, and seems less able to manage with the good eye patched, and I definitely think it needs to be taken care of.
So what do we do to take care of it is the next question. We have the option of a lens implant, which would give her some vision in the eye, however, since the vision changes so dramatically throughout childhood, Savannah would probably still have to wear glasses as well. So Savannah's doctor thinks it might be best to not implant and just do regular contact lenses which would allow for more control over prescription changes and so forth.
Whichever way we decide, it is permanent. There is the advantage that even if it wasn't the right prescription, the eye would still be able to see some if we did implant. If we don't implant, then it reduces some of the possible headaches down the road....
The surgery itself sound like it would be similar to the previous ones from our end - the pre-op visits, the surgery itself, a couple of post op visits.

I am really praying for all of you. For wisdom and some peace.

Okay, what I want to know is how in the world you are going to get contact lenses in Savannah's eyes every morning? I can't imagine! Like Jo said, may the Lord give you wisdom!

if you don't do the implant do you have to do contacts? or can you do glasses in that case too?
