So today we didn't do much. We barely left the house. Mike laid motionless on the sofa watching TV for a good part of it.... It's allowed when one is not feeling real well. I spent the majority of the day sewing, learning how to applique, and working on projects around the house. I guess the only time we left the house was when I went to a garage sale, and Mike ran up to get gas for the lawnmower. We never did actually use the lawnmower though.
Yesterday, I forgot to mention, we finished planting our vegetable garden. We finished our flower beds in the back yard a couple of weeks ago, and after a couple of failed attempts at getting seeds to grow that had been given to us, we finally went and bought some. By summers end we should be over flowing with Cucumbers, Carrots, and Green Beans. Thankfully, most of them will freeze well, and maybe I will try my hand at making pickles... Can pickles be made out of any old cucumber or are there special varieties???
The second batch of sunflowers are growing really good too. I will have to try and take a picture of them tomorrow, right now it is too dark to see anything out there. The first round of sunflowers were superstunted in their growth, we think that the grass around them took away to much nutrients. The grass did the same thing to the Fig tree too, and when I removed the grass the tree thrived.

Hey, Meagan, neat! This will be a great way to stay in touch with those you can't see often. So glad those grandparents came in handy. We didn't have near while our kids were growing up so we try to give Jo & Del a break when we can as well. And yes, you need special cucumbers to do pickles. They're smaller and when you see them, you'll recognize that they could be pickles instantly. Actually, I've never eaten a cucumber for pickling before it was pickled - I wonder if it tastes like a regular cucumber?
Hmm, I don't know. What am I going to do with so many cucmubers????
