Well. I am always excited that Christmas is coming and always sad to see it go. In fact I usually do nothing but sit around on the sofa for a day or two after if I can so that I can feel sorry that it is gone. Usually though I am really ready for it to be though cause I physically need the rest that comes after all the Christmas parties and holiday celebrating is over.
Christmas this year was really a good one. I think it was the first time since Mike and I married that we were able to celebrate it around the tree without having to think about how we were going to transport most of it home. We were able to wrap a big kitchen set up for Savannah and let her open it on Christmas morning. She thought it was the greatest.
She must have played with it for quite a while. and when I say big, I mean big... It's sort of hard to tell but it has to be at least 4 to 5 feet long, and a foot or two wide. You can see how tall it is. But the girls are getting a big kick out of it and I have had to settle a few sharing problems in the days that have followed Christmas.
The Melissa and Doug puzzle was a hit too. Savannah will bring me random pieces throughout the day but when she really wants to play with it, she brings me all the pieces and she knows how to do it too. I am telling you I have one smart cookie for a kid.
Joanna made a really cool coloring set for her too. She loves it. Takes it with her lots of places, but Mom has to stay on top of it cause she hasn't figured out how to put the crayons back in yet so she just throws them on the floor. I'll post a picture of it too when I can get it out of the sleeping childs room.
Savannah also received a cleaning kit, which they also really like but I haven't been able to convince them to really use yet; a singing dog, which she thinks is great; and some clothes, which she liked but like allkids got tossed aside.
Over on the other blog that I am privileged to participate in, we did a secret santa gift exchange. Here's the cool gift that I received. Thank you Joanna.
New sheets, new bedspread for summertime, and some new clothes for Dad, round out the rest of our Christmas. I will post the second half of Christmas later, cause it is getting rather late and I promised myself an early bedtime.
