So I planted the beans a week ago and I decided to wait to plant the
tomatoes and carrots till the fall season that us Floridians have. Instead, I am going to use the space left for the
cantaloupe and watermelon seeds that I bought. They really could use all the space left in the garden beds, especially since I did flowers in the back beds looking out towards the pond. I hear though that in Florida, the active growing season for most fruits and
vegetables is from January to May and August to December. I didn't know that before planting the beans though so we may not have a very good crop. They are growing well now, but I hear it will get too hot for their likings long before they produce much and then the bugs destroy them when they aren't as healthy. I hear the
cantaloupe and watermelon love the nice Florida heat so much though that they will make it. I also heard that green bell peppers could like it enough to be fruitful, though I don't think I am going to try them this year at least. Maybe I will get the
cantaloupe seeds in the ground tomorrow, and a picture of the beans for the blog.
