Freezing and Defrosting....

Yup, that is right. We have spent the evening doing both.

We are trying to make as much ice as possible in the freezer just in case we loose power tomorrow with Tropical Storm / Hurricane Fay coming ashore as a DIRECT hit. We haven't had a direct hit in years, usually we only get either outer bands or the remnants through here, but even then we have lost power for a period of time. This time we don't really want to lose the entire contents of our freezer which include several bags of chicken nuggets and pounds of frozen fresh shrimp. (Can shrimp still be considered fresh if they are in fact frozen????) Anyways, that said I am putting ice into Ziploc bags and trying to insulate the freezer as much as possible from any possible threat from power outage.

But at the same time we are also trying to defrost a little bit too. With the record high temps around here lately, we have been wondering why our air conditioner was having some issues trying to keep this place cool. I thought it was just hot flashes and hormonal stuff, but we found out that our AC unit actually was icing over. It was having trouble keeping us cool cause it only had about 20% of its ability left. So I will have to upload the pictures of mike defrosting the ac tomorrow.... if we still have power tomorrow that is.
(Yup that is ice in Mike's Hands)

Oh, and if you don't hear from us for a few days, just know we are dining on chicken nuggets and shrimp out of our freezer while we wait for the power to come back on.
