I often find myself wondering as of late if I am a good mom or not.  I mean, really what makes a good mom?

There are lots of times now when I feel so unprepared as a mom.  I feel so at a loss as to how I can help my kids become more prepared to handle life, when especially as of late I wonder if I can even handle it myself.

Meagan, I think we all struggle with that question and are constantly trying to measure up to some standard that's never achieveable. Please don't be too hard on yourself. And reach out to those around you who can support you. Love, Maggie

You're not alone in feeling this way, Meagan. But your daughters LOVE you and that's very evident...and that makes you a GREAT mom. Don't ever doubt that. We can all be a little unsure about things...we don't know what tomorrow is going to look like, but that's when we have to rely on our faith and understand that God doesn't give us anything we can't handle (even if we sometimes wish He didn't trust us so much!). Hang in there. :)

"what makes a good mom?"

That is up to your kids and your husband. Don't let anyone else, including yourself, tell you you're not a good mom because of something you are or aren't doing. Just do the best you can, and you'll be a good mom. Take heart, my friend. You've got the hardest job there is and I (for one) think you're doing just fine.
