Yesterday I was able to harvest the sunflower seeds. I went and checked the brown bags in the garage and they had started to go moldy, so I took them out and started hosing them off to see what was molding, and the seeds just started falling out themselves from the pressure of the water. Turns out the seeds were ripe and the part of the flower that holds the seeds in was getting too ripe.
After I harvested them all out, Mike boiled them in salt water and then baked them in the oven. I don't know if that is how they are supposed to be cooked or not, I haven't tried them, but they look good.
